Job Title: Crisis Supports Coordinator
Terms: Part-time Contract, Immediately to December 31, 2026; 20 hours weekly, including occasional evenings and weekends; availability to work onsite at WSN’s office in Newmarket and from a private and confidential home office is required to accommodate our current hybrid work model.
Salary: $32.00 per hour

The Crisis Supports Coordinator reports to the Program Manager and works in co-operation with the staff and volunteers of the WSN.

Major Responsibilities:
 Provide all services from an integrated feminist, anti-colonial, anti-racist and anti-oppression framework.
 Co-ordinate the delivery of hybrid crisis supports services e.g., online chat, virtual drop-in, counselling groups, and a 24/7 crisis and support line.
 Conduct intakes and rapid response counselling; provide emotional support, information, safety planning, systems navigation, education and referrals to survivors, their support people and individuals accessing WSN’s services.
 Ensure effective coverage of all crisis support services and monthly bingo fundraiser through the coordination and support (e.g., training, supervision, and scheduling) of volunteers and paid back-up workers.
 Cofacilitate monthly volunteer clinical meetings.
 Develop outreach materials and engage in outreach to raise awareness about WSN hybrid crisis support programs and services.
 Maintain and update the content of WSN’s volunteer training programs and related materials.
 On a one-week rotational basis, perform the role of staff back-up for volunteers responding to calls on WSN’s 24-hour crisis line.
 On a rotational basis, participate in the delivery of WSN’s bingo fundraiser in Newmarket (Sunday 3:45pm-6pm).
 Undertake special projects and other related duties consistent with the organization’s objectives, as assigned.

Qualifications:
 A minimum of two years of experience providing counselling, crisis support and case
management to women and femme identifying survivors with complex needs who have experienced sexual exploitation and sexual violence, including childhood sexual abuse and incest.
 A minimum of two years related experience coordinating and co-facilitating trauma and support groups, including developing group materials.
 A minimum of two years related experience providing supervision and support, including training of staff, volunteers, and students in the anti-violence sector.
 A minimum of two years experience outreaching to, collaborating, and delivering psychoeducational presentations (in person and virtually) with marginalized and diverse stakeholders.
 Specialized knowledge of marginalized groups, trauma, mental health, sexual exploitation, violence, and substance abuse issues.
 Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g. Child and Family Services Act and The Youth Criminal Justice Act) and Regional services for referral purposes.
 Demonstrated social media marketing knowledge and computer skills, including an ability to use Course Craft, Zoom, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and proficiency in Google Suite (including Gmail, Google docs, etc.), and design software.
 A second language other than English and French is an asset; Bilingualism is an asset.
 Knowledge of the York Region community and human service sector is required.
 A reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and insurance is required. Travel across York Region is a
requirement within this position.
 Current registration with OCSWSSW, CPRO or another counselling related regulatory body is an asset.
 Related post-secondary education.
