Women’s Support Network of York Region (WSN) is the rape crisis/sexual assault centre in York Region. We are a feminist, non-profit organization that provides support to survivors of sexual violence and sexual exploitation for the purpose of human trafficking. WSN is situated, in Newmarket, on the traditional territories of the Wendat, the Haudenosaunee, and the Anishinaabe peoples whose presence here continues to this day. Job Title: Case Manager & Outreach Worker
Terms: Contract, Immediately to March 2027 (possibility of renewal), 37.5 hours weekly, occasional evening and weekend availability required
The Case Manager and Outreach Worker Rate: $28.35 per hour

Case Manager & Outreach Worker report to the Program Manager and works in co- operation with the staff of the WSN.

Major Responsibilities:
Crisis Intervention and Case Management
 Provide all WSN services from a trauma-informed, integrated feminist, anti-racist, anti-colonial, and anti-oppression framework.
 Provide sexually exploited women and youth with crisis counselling, emotional support, and safety planning.
 Coordinate client case conferencing/management with other service providers; advocacy (i.e., addiction services, legal, emergency shelter, housing, and financial support) and provide accompaniments as required.
 Co-facilitate Safe Passages pre and post groups and other support groups for survivors.
 On a rotational basis, perform the role of staff back-up for volunteers responding to calls on WSN’s 24-hour crisis line.

Outreach
 Design and disseminate outreach and education tools informing trafficked women, survivors of sexual violence, and community agencies about WSN’s case management, trauma counselling, virtual groups and Safe Passages Healing Retreat services.
 Develop both informal and formal partnerships with community groups and agencies to support the warm transfer of sexually exploited women and youth with complex needs.
 On a rotational basis, participate in the delivery of WSN’s bingo fundraiser in Newmarket (Sunday 3:45pm-6pm).
 Undertake special projects and other related duties consistent with the organization’s objectives, as assigned.
Key Qualifications:
 Theoretical and practical understanding of commercial sexual exploitation and sexual violence of women and youth across diverse intersections (e.g., race, faith, sexual orientation, and gender identities)

 Minimum of 2 years related experience providing crisis support and case management to women and youth with complex needs who have experienced sexual exploitation and sexual violence, including childhood sexual abuse or incest.
 Demonstrated experience co-facilitating groups with survivors of sexual violence and sexual exploitation.
 Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., Child and Family Services Act), regional and provincial services for safety planning and referral purposes.
 Demonstrated experience outreaching to and collaborating with community stakeholders in the anti-human trafficking or violence against women sector.
 Experience working with diverse staff, volunteers/students, and clients from marginalized communities.
 Excellent communication, organizational, time management, conflict management and interpersonal skills.
 Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a team.
 Computer proficiency and experience completing reports and client related advocacy letters (e.g., housing, and legal).
 A reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and insurance. Travel across York Region is a requirement within this position.
 Available to work onsite at WSN’s office in Newmarket; from other organizations and community spaces in York Region; and from a private and confidential home office during remote workdays.
 An applicant with lived experience of sexual exploitation is an asset.
 A second language other than English and French is an asset; Bilingualism is a strong asset.
 Related post-secondary education or equivalent education and experience.
 Current registration with OCSWSSW, CPRO or another counselling related regulatory body is an asset.
