The Relief Administrative Assistant, as a member of Women and Trades and Technology team, is responsible for
providing front desk, reception, administrative support, outreach support, data entry and accounting support.

The Women in Trades and Technology programs provide training and employment service to women interested in
joining the construction, landscape and information technology industries. Programs are funded by MTCU (Ministry
of Training, Colleges and Universities) and are geared to educate women about career opportunities in non-traditional
occupations and train them in trades-specific programs.


  • Operates in an environment that has minimal supervision and where considerable judgement is
  • Assists Business Administrator for opening, updating and closing client files in databases;
  • Monitors petty cash, TTC tokens or personal support expenses for programs;
  • Processes accounts payable entries into the Finance Department program and exports to the Finance
  • Maintains and prepares book-keeping records in accordance with YWCA Record Management System
    (i.e. filing).


  •  In-depth knowledge of an academic or technical discipline normally acquired through completion of a
    community college diploma (e.g. business administration, commerce or related field) (Cases for
    Equivalency will be considered);
  • 1-3 years’ experience required;
  • Advanced computer skills in Windows, Excel, Internet, spreadsheet and database applications;
  • Very strong organizational skills and detail-oriented;
  • Superior customer service, verbal and written communication skills;
  • Able to work flexible and extended hours;
  • Marketing experience an asset;
  • Understand and support the mission and beliefs of YWCA Toronto;
  • Incorporate principles of anti-oppression and equity at YWCA Toronto.
