BUSINESS MANAGER FULL-TIME

(40 hours / Monday thru Friday)

Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis (G-W WIC) is a dynamic, community-based, not for profit, feminist organization providing services to women and their children who have experienced domestic violence, sexual violence and human trafficking in Guelph and Wellington County. Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis is committed to building a diverse organization that works from an anti-racism anti-oppression framework. We are seeking a highly motivated Business Manager to join our leadership team and provide a complete range of financial, human resources, technology, facilities, reporting and management services to Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis. Requisite Skills, Abilities and Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline, such as business, accounting, finance, equivalent to 4 years of a full time education at a recognized college or university or generally recognized professional designation such as CPA or equivalent experience.
  • 4-6 years experience in an administrative role including accounting and supervision in a not for profit unionized environment.
  • 2-4 years experience in the management and operation of computerized financial and information systems.
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation, regulations and statutory requirements related to the organization’s activities and operations, e.g. Employment Standards Act 2000, Income Tax Act, donations and tax receipts regulations and guidelines, statutory deductions, etc.
  • Human Resources Management experience and solid labour relations knowledge and skills with the ability to lead complex HR processes including recruitment, payroll and safety.
  • Strong business management and financial acumen.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Extensive analytical skills and well developed organizational skills.
  • Computer proficiency with knowledge of Accounting Software, Excel, Microsoft Office, email and internet.
  • Knowledge of non-profit community based programs (Violence Against Women Sector an asset).
  • Familiarity and appreciation for the philosophy, goals and objectives of the G-WWIC and a solid understanding and belief in the philosophical orientation, goals and objectives of G-WWIC.

Employment Requirements:

  • Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance Certificate and personal credit check and maintaining of clearance requirements during course of employment.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurance.
