EVA Canada: Administrative and Communications Coordinator

The Ending Violence Association of Canada (EVA CAN) is looking for an energetic, creative, and organized individual to join our team in Ottawa. The Administrative and Communications Coordinator is responsible for a wide range of administrative, communication and logistical activities to support the efficient operation of the organization and its programs.

Qualifications:

• Bilingual in English and French

• Available to work in Ottawa

• Post-secondary degree (university or college) in relevant discipline (i.e. social work, gender studies, public administration, public relations) OR the equivalent in experience

• Minimum two years office administration experience and/or communications experience

• Demonstrated experience in developing social media content and website development and maintenance

• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, maintaining databases, and electronic file management

• Experience in event planning and managing event logistics • Strong organizational and time management skills

• Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including experience in minute-taking

• Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment

• Ability to work both independently and in team

• Comfortable working in a shared workspace

• Demonstrated commitment to working within an intersectional feminist approach

• Understanding and awareness of gender-based violence issues

• Experience working in a non-profit organization is an asset

• Positive, energetic, and willing to take on new tasks and fill gaps as needed

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide administrative support to the Executive Director

• Provide logistical support for events, meetings, and training workshops

• Maintain a database of key community contacts and partners

• Support and foster relationships with organization board members

• Support development of organizational social media presence and website maintenance

• Track and catalogue issues relevant to the sector and develop relevant social media content

• Provide day-to-day support with office equipment and ordering supplies

• General administrative tasks including filing, photocopying, and mail outs
