Hamilton Interval House-Housekeeping Assistant


Part Time Housekeeping Assistant (Union Position)

 

This position will help to provide feminist (diverse intersectional) based compassionate and innovative daily supports in support of women and their children living our shelter. 

Major responsibilities will include:  ordering and or shopping for all groceries, meat, paper products and cleaning items; maintaining all daily kitchen supplies for women / children; preparing meals that reflect culturally diverse nutritional foods and meet the dietary needs of women and children; providing general cleaning and maintaining of the shelter in keeping with health and safety standards

Shifts: Wednesday – 1pm – 7pm; Thurs & Fri – 3:30pm – 9:30pm;  Saturday – 5pm – 11pm. (24 hours / week)

Education: High School diploma, equivalent, or some college.

Experience: Minimum two years’ experience working in a similar role.

Other: Valid First Aid/CPR certification, valid WHMIS certification, valid Food Safe Handling Certification, valid certification in Bill 168, valid certification in AODA, valid certification in Occupational Health and Safety, proof of valid Ontario driver’s license and a fully insured road worthy vehicle with an insurance minimum of two million in collision/personal liability, original copy of police vulnerable sector clearance and meet the requirements of vulnerable sector standards for employment by our agency.  Bi-lingual or a second language an asset.
