OAITH's big voice belies small resources

From the high profile and big public voice OAITH has had over its 27 years of work, you'd never know that we are a network of small resources and hard-working volunteers.

Our total staff number only one and OAITH's large workload is only accomplished with the help of shelter workers who must provide their time and expertise in addition to the demanding full-time work they do within their services.

As part of government cost-cutting in 1996, OAITH lost 100% of the funding it was receiving from the Province of Ontario . This means OAITH receives no ongoing, permanent core funding. Each year members decide on membership renewal and pay a membership fee. Our only other funding relies on project grants that are time limited and specific to project activities, and donations.

If you would like to support the work of OAITH, please consider donating financially or by providing gifts in kind. Gifts in kind could include:

• printing costs
• translation costs
• travel and accommodation costs
• office supplies

OAITH is a non-profit organization but is not a registered charity and so we are unable to provide tax deductible charitable receipts.
